Investor Alliance Impact
The critical commitment of Spark Ventures’ dedicated individual investors has provided foundational support for many of Spark’s partner development efforts over the years.
In 2009, generous Spark investors funded the construction of a water well and tower for Zambian partner, Hope Ministries. Today, that well provides reliable access to clean drinking water for the children of Hope Community School and the surrounding village.
The Shelby Goldstein Schoolhouse in Ndola, Zambia opened in 2010 as the new home of Hope Community School. Funded through a partnership between Spark Ventures and the Chicago Community Trust, over 300 children are educated in this seven-classroom facility, which has engaged and inspired the entire village.
In 2011, Spark Ventures made the lead investment in a commercial poultry farm, built and managed by Spark’s Zambian Partner. With over 15,000 chickens raised and sold in the first year, this farm will create financial sustainability for Hope Community School.
