Send a letter to your child.

We encourage sponsors to send letters to their child.  Please feel free to write as often as you would like.  Be aware that it will take a while for your child to respond.  You will hear from your child about twice a year.

If you would like to send a letter to your child you have two options. You can send the letter through U.S. Mail to:

Please include your name, your child's name and reference number (found in the Profile Folder you received).  Feel free to include a picture, stickers or other flat inexpensive items.

You can also email us a letter in the space provided below. Emails will be printed and sent to your child.

Regarding the content of your letters, please follow these guidelines:

a.     Writing a short letter is fine.  For most children, the idea of receiving a letter is usually more exciting and encouraging than the content.

b.     Topics like school, games, culture, food, weather, sports, music, art/crafts, etc. are a good place to start as you get to know your child.

c.     For the orphans, questions about parents and family are difficult—please avoid asking about these areas.

d.     It is best not to write about your belongings, vacations/trips, etc. These children have very little and it may be a point of confusion.  Focus on your family, friends, work, simple things.
