2010-2011 Highlights
We at Spark are excited to share the great accomplishments that we have been able to achieve in the 2010-2011 fiscal year with the generous support of all of our investors and volunteers. July 2010
Spark completed its 10th Partnership Trip to Zambia.
August 2010
Spark's partner school's staff expanded to nine full-time teachers.
September 2010
Spark's new Junior Board launched with eight passionate young professionals.
October 2010
Co-founder Rich Johnson joined staff as full-time CEO.
November 2010
Spark's fall event, AWAKEN, in Chicago hosted over 350 supporters and raised $35K.
December 2010
Spark's partner school in Zambia boasted a 95% pass rate for seventh graders advancing to secondary school, significantly outperforming the national average of 84%.
January 2011
The largest first grade class in the history of Spark's partner organization, Hope Minitries, started school.
February 2011
Spark and its partner, Hope Ministries, signed the contract for Spark’s first investment in the poultry farm social enterprise in Zambia.
March 2011
Spark's annual Wine Tasting event sold out and raised over $25K.
April 2011
The poultry farm social enterprise in Zambia opened with 5,000 chicks and a beautiful ceremony.
May 2011
The second clinic of the year was conducted for all the staff and students of Spark's partner, the clinic was housed in the brand new clinic building.
June 2011
Spark’s Partnership Trips was featured in the Chicago Sun-Times.
