Strategy & Approach
Spark Ventures achieves its mission by focusing on a three-fold Strategy: establishing long-term partnerships, raising awareness and support, and investing resources.

1. Establish Long-term Partnerships
|
|
· Identify small, promising and viable organizations that help vulnerable children in impoverished and/or under-resourced areas
· Build relationships with local leaders of these organizations, learning their culture and needs, and advancing their vision collaboratively
· Formalize partnership agreements centered on mutual respect, with clear expectations and accountability for both parties

2. Raise awareness and support
|
|
· Communicate the needs and vision of partner organizations
· Identify and recruit investors and associates willing to give time, money and expertise
· Offer transformational experiences through volunteer travel and service-learning with partner organizations
· Connect partner organizations with local support providers and identify local and international resources to create sustainability and growth

3. Invest Resources
|
|
· Provide leadership development and training for partner organizations
· Assist with infrastructure, organizational development and efficiencies
· Supply finances for operating budget, expansion and capital projects
· Connect supplies, services and people from Spark Associates to partner organizations

Spark Ventures has a unique Approach to helping vulnerable children achieve their potential that includes partner development, child sponsorship and Transformation Trips.
|
|
· Partner Development. Spark comes alongside of local organizations that are doing child humanitarian work in areas of extreme poverty. With a foundation of relationships and mutual accountability, we strengthen those organizations through training and leadership/organizational development, financial and volunteer resources, and strategies for economic sustainability.
· Sponsorship. Children being served through Spark Ventures can be sponsored for less than $1 a day. Sponsorship provides food, education and basic medical care. A simple commitment of $25/month can literally make the difference in a child’s opportunity to live and have a future.
· Transformation Trips. Spark facilitates volunteer travel opportunities to visit our partners and experience their harsh realities and heroic humanitarian efforts first hand. In addition to a portion of the trip costs going to support the partner organization, many participants also choose to make a follow-up investment—further supporting Spark’s Partnership Model.
