Transformation Trip Participants Journey Back to Zambia

David Goldstein (Board Member, 2008 Trip Participant) and Nancy Williams (2008 Trip Participant) are going to Zambia… again. David and Nancy were members of the first Spark Ventures Investor Transformation Trip to Zambia in the summer of 2008 and this January will travel back to continue to build relationships and serve alongside the Hope staff and children. The main focus of their trip will be to work with Hope teachers and staff to implement the HopeFully Protected Project which will provide treated mosquito nets to children at Hope Community School to help reduce and prevent the transmission of malaria. David and Nancy will also get the opportunity to visit with the children they sponsor, support the teachers at the school and provide some training to the leadership of our partner organization.

Since 2007, Spark Ventures has sent 7 Transformation Trips (5 college student-focused and 2 investor-focused) to Zambia to volunteer with Hope Ministries and see our partnership work first hand. Trip participants work with children at the school and orphanage, contribute to work projects, learn about Spark’s partner organization, and experience Zambian culture through dinners at host homes and educational tours. It is a great way for Spark supporters to see where their money is going and how their investment is making a difference in the lives of children.
