Every year, Spark performs an internal financial audit with Hope Ministries to ensure that the resources sent are being used properly, effectively and in a manner that best serves the vulnerable children of their community. Scott will be conducting this audit with the help of Hope staff members Margaret Mumba and Jane Kapira. An additional focus of Scott's trip this year is to check in on the progress and developments with the new Shelby Goldstein Schoolhouse. The new facility is expected to be operational by January 4, 2010 (the first day of school for the Zambian school system), providing that the early rains and lack of electricity do not cause a delay.

This initiative is of great importance to Hope Ministries as it will provide valuable local revenue and help move them towards sustainability. It is also a critical project for Spark Ventures as it involves our first partner moving into the third phase of our partnership model.  Spark wants to ensure that Hope has the tools and resources they need to execute and implement this farming business venture.
