One Amazing Night!
We made Spark history on Friday, November 4, 2011.
Our 4th annual fall event, We are Spark brought together 300 people to the Chicago Cultural Center to enjoy great food and drinks, interesting conversations and new connections. Most importantly, the Spark community rallied around our mission to invest in sustainable solutions for children living in poverty.

We Can Do More Together.
At the event, speaker Pernille Lopez announced that Spark Board, lead investors and corporate sponsors had raised $80,000 towards the We are Spark campaign going into the night. She explained that if the attendees could raise $40,000 in the next several hours, a generous Spark investor had agreed to match it for a total of another $80,000 towards the campaign.
Following an inspiring performance by the Chicago Children’s Choir, the attendees got busy making their personal pledges and investments and 90 minutes later, Spark CEO Rich Johnson was on the stage to make a big announcement. “Those of us in this room raised $60,285 and with the $40,000 match, that means the Spark community raised a total of $100,285 in one night!
We want to thank those who made this event so successful, including our corporate sponsor, event chairs, board of directors, volunteers and everyone who attended and supported through pre-event contributions. The continued support of the Spark community will fuel our vision to ensure that children around the world have the opportunity to achieve their potential.
